BIRDWATCHING

The Birdwatching Activity is an informal group which emphasises the social as well as the birdwatching side. It visits different areas within a two-hour drive of Marbella to see various species. The location will vary depending on the time of year and where any particular sightings have been reported. The group meets approx. every three weeks. The schedule is arranged on a three-monthly basis and sent to all members of the activity. It meets at a designated point near Marbella and then carpool to the birdwatching area(s). Contributions towards fuel and toll charges are requested. It is normally a full day out, meeting approx. 9am and returning to the Marbella area at approx. 5pm. Some visits are just a short day ending after lunch.

Please bring a hat, picnic and plenty of water with you. There are few facilities on most days. The group is out in the field and only goes for a drink at the end of the day.  Some days involve walking, others are done from cars. Birdwatching equipment such as binoculars, telescope, camera etc would be useful but not essential as there are usually other members with spare equipment. All levels are welcomed. The group ranges from novice to experienced but all enjoy watching our feathered friends whether the name is known or not!
