APPLYING THE PRINCIPLES OF YOGA AND MINDFULNESS FOR A HAPPIER LIFE
The speaker will introduce some of the principles of yogic philosophy and discuss how, together with mindfulness techniques, they can be applied to a range of every day situations to help people develop happier, healthier habits and experiences.
The talk will be experiential, with guests invited to participate in simple exercises including sensory awareness, walking meditation, and vibrational energy exchange.
Samm is a yoga, meditation and creative writing teacher, and has been teaching internationally for the last 3 years at studios and retreats. She is now based at her retreat centre in Coin – Riverheart Retreats – where she lives with her family and an assortment of rescue animals.
As well as organising and teaching retreats, she offers beginners’ yoga and meditation courses, monthly meditation immersion days and drop in classes – all held in Riverheart Retreats’ garden shala. She also teaches at local yoga studios in Coín and Fuengirola.
Before coming to a lifestyle centred on yoga and meditation, she worked in children’s theatre, social work, international development, education, and as a copywriter and editor. Her dream for 2019 is to spend more time painting, in particular working with people’s spirit / totem animals.
