BENAHAVIS AQUEDUCT WALK

Sandpiper Walk October 28, 2019 10:30am Meet at Benahavís Village, Café Cocina at 10.30am
Roger Hambleton

This walk is a departure from a beach walk. It will start in Benahavis and follow along the boardwalk in the Benahavis Gorge, before crossing the gorge and climbing up to the old aqueduct. The walk then continues along the aqueduct before dropping down to the river and returning along a new trail by the river and then returning to the village by the boardwalk. The scenery is spectacular!
Take the A7175 turning to Benahavis off the A7, which is the second exit after the San Pedro tunnel from Marbella. Go across the roundabout towards Benahavis. At next roundabout decorated with a Benahavis waterfall, go straight on. The road goes under the AP7 and then comes to a cross-roads. Go straight across and continue to the next roundabout at the entrance to the village (about 3 km). Just after the third roundabout you will have a natural right turn in the road and go over some speed bumps. You will then have buildings on the right hand side and should see the cookery school which has three flag-poles outside. Just after that, again on the right hand side is the first café on this stretch with chairs and tables outside. This is the meeting place. There is be plenty of parking immediately before the café.
Meet at 10.30 am at the café.
