BENAHAVIS AQUEDUCT WALK
This walk starts at the Ermita Virgen del Rosario and follows the boardwalk towards Benahavis. It then crosses the wooden bridge over the Angosturas Gorge and Guadalmina river and ascends to an old aqueduct (Acequia) originally built by the Moors. Today's more recent construction is still functioning. The walk then continues along the aqueduct before dropping down to the river Guadalmina where a different trail leads back to the Ermita carpark. The scenery and greenery on this walk are spectacular! Please note this walk does not pass coffee shops or conveniences.
Directions to the Meeting Point
The direction is towards Benahavis on the A7175 which is the second exit on the A7 after the San Pedro tunnel from Marbella. Go across the roundabout towards Benahavis. At the next roundabout decorated with a tower and waterfall, go straight ahead. The road goes under the AP7 and then comes to another roundabout. Again, go straight across towards Benahavis. After about 1 km, look for a clearing in the woods on the right where the Ermita Virgen del Rosario and carpark are situated. Park in the carpark. (If you park in front of the Ermita, you might get a ticket.)
