BENAHAVIS AQUEDUCT WALK – FULL VERSION
This walk starts at the Ermita Virgen del Rosario and follows the trail along the lower aqueduct to the road bridge. It then mounts to the upper aqueduct which it follows to the wooden bridge over the Angosturas Gorge and Guadalmina river. The walk then joins the boardwalk into Benahavis where refreshments can be taken at a local restaurant prior to the downhill return to the Ermita carpark. The scenery and greenery on this walk are spectacular! And the aqueducts originally built by the Moors are a marvel to enjoy.
Directions to the Meeting Point
Take the second exit from the A7 after the San Pedro tunnel on to the A7175 towards Benahavis. Go across the roundabout towards Benahavis. At the next roundabout decorated with a tower and waterfall, go straight ahead. The road goes under the AP7 and then comes to another roundabout. Again, go straight across towards Benahavis. After about 1 km, look for a clearing in the woods on the right where the Ermita Virgen del Rosario and carpark are situated. We recommend that you park in the carpark. (If you park in front of the Ermita, you might get a ticket.)
