BENAHAVIS RIVERSIDE AND AQUEDUCT WALK – LOOP – NEW WALK
This walk starts across the road from the meeting point and follows a very scenic walk alongside the Guadalmina River passing under the toll road bridge and then under a steel access bridge to Capanes del Golf. The path then continues up a tarred road which is the only hill on the walk. The walk then follows the hiking route along a wide track that has many places where there is steel grating which is covering water channels or aqueducts. This is a very peaceful part and picturesque which ends up at the bridge over the Angosturas Gorge and the Guadalmina River. The walk then joins the boardwalk leading down the road where there is a stopping point that also takes in the views. The walk continues down the road until we reach the Ernita carpark and then the path follows back under the toll road bridge returning to the roundabout where the walk started. The scenery and greenery on this walk are spectacular! And the aqueducts initially built by the Moors are a marvel to enjoy.
