This walk begins in the Albuqueria valley near Coín and ascends to a mirador just below the summit of the Cerro del Águila (1036m) in the Sierra Negra.

The walk can be divided into three sections.  For the first 20 minutes the route follows a shady forest path that becomes increasingly steep before reaching a wide unmade road.  This section of the walk is the same as the Albuqueria Valley Upper Waterfalls Country Walk.

The route then follows the unmade road for 30 minutes as it ascends gently through the hills.  There are views of the Barranco Blanco to the left and the Sierra de las Nieves to the west.

The final section of the walk, which takes about 45 minutes, follows a steep and rocky mountain path through woods up towards the Cerro del Águila.  This climb is testing in places but the effort is well worth it once the path reaches a wide ridge just below the summit.  There are spectacular views from here to the coast near La Cala and inland to the towns and villages around Coín.

After a short stop for lunch on the ridge the walk returns by the same route.
