GUARO – PUERTO ALTO

Hill Walk January 28, 2019 10:30am Monda Car Park
Andrew Sloan

This walk follows a route through almond and olive groves and climbs up to the Puerto Alto which offers some fantastic views. Leaving Guaro, the start descends 150 metres down to a valley with a few houses and cultivation and then continues across the Rio Seco straight up the steep 400 metre ascent of the Cuesta de lo Alto. This is the hardest part of the walk. The effort required is compensated by the magnificent views back through the valley and then the views across to Tolox and Yunquera on the other side when the walk continues along the top. There is a  stop for a break after which the walk heads back on a circular route down to the valley and then up the final 150 metres ascent.
