Timed to coincide with the annual flowering of the almond blossom, this walk follows a route through almond and olive groves and climbs up to the Puerto Alto which offers fantastic views.

Leaving Guaro, the route descends 150 metres down to a valley with a few houses and farmsteads before continuing across the Rio Seco and straight up the steep 400 metre ascent of the Cuesta de lo Alto. This is the hardest part of the walk. The effort required is compensated by magnificent views back down the valley and then across to Tolox and Yunquera when the walk reaches the the top of the ridge. There is a stop for a lunch break after which the walk heads back on a circular route down to the river valley and then up the final 150 metres ascent.

We will car share from Monda for this walk as there is only limited parking in Guaro.
