This is a varied terrain walk that takes in great views of Marbella and the western Costa del Sol.

The walk begins by climbing gently along the route of the long-abandoned Ojen to Marbella mine railway.  It then climbs more steeply up a rough forest path to the Puerto del Acebuche from where there are fine views.

The route continues past the interesting rock formations of the Puerto Rico Alta before climbing to the Puerto del Pino.  It then descends into a valley to cross a stream before climbing once again to the Puerto de las Pitas and the Mirador de los Gitanos from where there are excellent views of the coast.  This is the highest point of the walk.

The route then descends through woodlands to the Puerto Rico Bajo before passing the site of the now abandoned Gaianos Commune to reach a tarmac road just above the Cascada Restaurant.
