NACIMIENTO DE COÍN AND FIRE-LOOKOUT

From the meeting point, we will go to two miradors the Cerro Aliminos followed by the Fire-Lookout. The walk will pass through the pine forest and across the heathland. The route then continues up a stony incline to a flat path. After a short while on this uneven path, which is steep and rocky with loose stones, we climb to the miradors first to Cerro Aliminos then next to the Fire-Lookout post and they have great views down to the coastline and surrounding countryside. It is a convenient point for a refreshment break. From there the route leads down a long fire break with an easy slope to the path which leads back to the starting point.

From Marbella

Take the A355 past Ojén and past Monda. After the KM 12 sign take the turn-off to "Camino de Los llanos" to the right. After 100 metres, at the junction, turn right again. Drive through the trees and after about 700 metres turn left (the first turn). After 400 metres there is a crossing with a big sign ‘Hotel Ciudad de Cine’. Turn left at the crossroad and continue down a white gravel road for about 1 KM until you reach the Sports Stadium on the left-hand side, there are ample parking spaces. This is the meeting place.

From Coín, Mijas

Take the A355 towards Marbella. After KM 11 take the turn off to "Camino de los llanos" to the left. After 200 metres, at the junction, turn right. Drive through the trees and after about 700 metres turn left (the first turn). After 400 metres there is a crossing with a big sign ‘Hotel Ciudad de Cine’. Turn left at the crossroad and continue down a white gravel road for about 1 KM, until you reach the Sports Stadium on the left-hand side, there are ample parking spaces. This is the meeting place.
