NUEVA ANDALUCIA TO THE GUADAIZA RESERVOIR
The walk begins at the north outskirts of Nueva Andalucia. Leaving the built up area behind, it follows a pedestrian pavement in countryside greenery and ultimately enters a hard packed trail. It parallels the Guadiaza river on the right, passes La Quinta golf course on the left, and enters a wide gorge leading to the reservoir, Embalse de Guadaiza. The views in the gorge and from the reservoir are spectacular. Wildlife abounds... Heron, Egrets and even Kingfishers have been spotted. Return is by the same route. Bring refreshments.
Directions to the Meeting Point
The meeting point is at the north end of Calle Sirio at its junction with Calle Lira in Nueva Andalucia. Caution: There are two streets named Sirio. The relevant Sirio begins at the last roundabout at the foot of Avenida Miguel Cervantes, one of the major streets through Nueva Andalucia. Proceed towards the junction with Calle Lira. It is probably best to park on Sirio somewhere opposite Calle 12F where parking spaces should be available, and walk the final +/- 200 metres to the meeting point. Please use the 'what3words' shown above or the Google Maps coordinates: 36.511485, -4.988600. Alternatively, a street map may help.
