RIO PEREILAS VALLEY, MONDA

Leaving the venta, the walk follows a path behind a small industrial building into the foothills below Sierra Alpujata. It passes through avocado groves and almond trees until it reaches the Mancha Valley with a view of the white cliffs of a dolomite quarry (dolomite is used in glass making and furnace linings). Turning away from the quarry the trail leads along the side of the valley looking down onto the river, Rio Pereilas, running through the rich fertile valley. It loops around and up a short incline after which it passes up through pine woods ending, eventually, back at the starting point.

From Marbella

Take the A355. Continue past Monda. After Km 16 there is the Monda Glass Factory and a BP garage on the right. Take the junction and continue all the way around the BP garage and park in front of the venta, Taberna de Urbaneja. This is the meeting place.

From Coín/Alhaurín/Cártama

Take the A355 direction Marbella. After Kilometre 15 there is the Monda Glass Factory and a BP garage on the left. Take the junction and continue all the way around the BP garage and park in front of the venta, Taberna de Urbaneja. This is the meeting place.
