Net zero is not simply an energy problem. It is also a materials problem—and the everyday choices made by designers, businesses and consumers can have a significant cumulative impact.
The presentation would explain the concept of embodied carbon, showing that emissions arise not only when products are used, but also from extracting raw materials, manufacturing, transporting, installing, maintaining and ultimately disposing of them.
The presenter will also discuss how the so-called Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in the UK has never demonstrated in simple arithmetic terms how “Net Zero” is to be achieved.
