TOLOX – SALTO DE LA REJIA AND UPPER WATERFALLS LOOP

TOLOX – SALTO DE LA REJIA AND UPPER WATERFALLS LOOP -- Reservations Now Accepted
hill Walk

This is an extension of the existing Salto de la Rejia Hill Walk that passes a number of waterfalls in the hills above Tolox. There are spectacular views throughout and complete tranquility.

The walk is graded as Heavy because, after passing the Salto de la Rejia waterfall, there are a number of quite technical sections involving traversing steep hillsides and climbing rocky paths. Walking poles are strongly recommended. The walk is not suitable for vertigo sufferers.

For those wanting a less demanding alternative it will be possible to come only as far as the Salto de la Rejia waterfall and then return back along the same path. This alternative is graded only as Moderate for a Hill Walk.

COÍN – THE BLUE QUARRY

COÍN – THE BLUE QUARRY
hill Walk

The walk “las canteras azules” starts by climbing gently through the pine forest above the abandoned Ciudad del Cine. After a pause at the top of the incline, the route follows a narrow, stony path above the Barranco Blanco valley with steep scree slopes on the left (vertigo sufferers beware). There will then be a stop to have a snack at the summit of Cerró Gordo from where there are fine views in all directions.

GUARO – RIO SECO AND ERMITA DE LA CRUZ DEL PUERTO
hill Walk

This is a new walk that explores the orchards and farmland around Guaro. The first part of the walk is mostly gently downhill but there is a long, steady climb on a good track to the Ermita de la Cruz del Puerto towards the end. There are excellent views of the countryside and distant hills throughout and plenty of places to take refreshments in Guaro after the walk.
