This tiny spa, fed by a naturally sulphurous hot spring, reputedly cured Julius Caesar of his scabies and is still used by locals.

As this is the last walk of the season everybody is invited to have a lunch together in Cabopino Port. After the walk we will go to Andy’s Beach Bar for a casual lunch. People can order for themselves or we can make a group order for the whole table. It’s flexible. All we need in advance is an indication of whether or not you will be at the lunch so we can advise the restaurant of numbers, but nothing needs to be pre-ordered or prepaid. This will stop just short of the final, testing ascent of La Concha but still offers spectacular views.

A short but challenging walk to the peak of la Cruz de Juanar (1.070 m) that stands above Marbella. On a clear day there are fabulous views from the summit across to North Africa. It is also often possible to see the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains to the east. The route returns through the shady pine forest adjoining the Arroyo de Juanar.
The approach to the summit is very steep with loose stones underfoot in places. Hikers will need to be sure footed and have a good head for heights. Walking poles are recommended.

It passes a variety of street bars and chiringuitos, which in full season are a hub of activity. Return is by the same route after an opportunity for refreshments at a nearby chiringuito.

From the meeting place at the corner of the marina participants proceed across a rough car park and along a flat hardened path around the back of Playa del Christo beach. They then enter a newer section of boardwalk heading west towards Manilva. The path gently climbs to Balcon de la Costa del Sol with magnificent views of Gibraltar. Walkers gently descend to cross the bridge over the Rio Guadalobon and continue on the boardwalk and paseo until Costa Natura is reached. Walkers return by the same route. On the return journey there will be an opportunity to take refreshments at a local cafe.

This is a scenic, circular walk into the hills to the north of the hotel ‘Refugio de Juanar’. A long, single-file climb is required but the wonderful mountain views in this peaceful, sheltered area are well worth the effort.

There is a venta next to the meeting point that provides an excellent location for post-walk refreshments and food. Walkers can enjoy a lunch after it opens at 12.30 pm.

This is a circular walk leading down from the starting point to the edge of Lake Concepcion on a good path with shade in certain parts. The path leads on to the Lake bed which is easy to walk on, with just a small amount of water running along in the river. At a certain point, the river bank is crossed to the path leading up to Istan. This path is a short steep climb, rocky in places, which leads onto a wide concrete and dirt road into the village of Istan. The views down the valley are wonderful with the sea and Marbella in the distance. There are viewing stops in the village and the path passes behind the newly opened Altos de Istan Hotel. Following the ridge with views towards Ojen and Calahonda, the path descends to the walk’s starting point.

This is a circular walk that climbs up through the superb karstic canyon, El Canuto de la Utrera, before crossing heathland and then returning along the beautiful Ruta de los Molinos which runs alongside the Rio de Manilva. Towards the end of the walk there will be an opportunity to cool off in the Baños de la Hedionda. This tiny spa, fed by a naturally sulphurous spring, was reputedly visited by Julius Caesar.

Walk participants will head into Parque de las Ranas following the river to the seafront. They will then proceed along the busy Marbella paseo maritimo following the orange trees and passing the El Fuerte hotel before turning inland towards the Parque de la Represa. After walking up the steady sloping paths in the park they will reach the lakes where sunbathing turtles might be seen. Leaving the park via a set of steps participants will enter the upper part of Marbella old town where they will proceed down the picturesque streets to Plaza de los Naranjos. There will be an opportunity to take refreshments in the old town.
Participants will then head to the Parque de la Alameda via the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Encaracion. Participants will proceed from the park towards the seafront along Avenida del Mar with its many interesting and impressive statues. They will then return along the Paseo Maritimo and Parque de las Ranas to the starting point.
Note – There is crazy pathing in the Parque de las Ranas, a gentle uphill slope in the Parque de la Represa and approx 30 steps to ascend to the Marbella old town.

This is an extension of the existing Salto de la Rejia Hill Walk that passes a number of waterfalls in the hills above Tolox. There are spectacular views throughout and complete tranquility.
The walk is graded as Heavy because, after passing the Salto de la Rejia waterfall, there are a number of quite technical sections involving traversing steep hillsides and climbing rocky paths. Walking poles are strongly recommended. The walk is not suitable for vertigo sufferers.
For those wanting a less demanding alternative it will be possible to come only as far as the Salto de la Rejia waterfall and then return back along the same path. This alternative is graded only as Moderate for a Hill Walk.

Walkers will return by the same route except when going through Puerto Banus where a section of road walking will be used to bypass the marina.

This walk initially follows Moorish irrigation channels and then passes through orange groves. About 2 km from the village, a path branches off to the left, passing through the trees at a higher level, avoiding the steep incline into Istan. The walk finishes at the Hotel Altos de Istan where refreshments and tapas are served on the terrace. This Hotel is also the meeting place, avoiding the previous long walk back from the Plaza.

This walk goes west from the Torre de la Bateria along the sendero litoral towards Riviera Playa. Much of the route is by boardwalk, affording pleasant views of this interesting part of the coast. Refreshments will be taken at the chiringuito ‘El Juncal’ at Rivera Playa before the return.

Leaving the Parque del Castillo behind, with its castle resplendent on the hill, this walk embarks on the Fuengirola Paseo Maritimo. It crosses the Fuengirola river, passes the Puerto Deportivo and arrives at the Espigon de la T and then continues to Los Boliches playa. It passes a variety of street bars and chiringuitos, which in full season are a hub of activity. Return is by the same route after an opportunity for refreshments at a nearby chiringuito.
