BENAHAVIS HIGH WALK
This is a lovely walk starting at the Benahavis reservoir, then heading inland following the river, but with very little shade. The ground is stoney, so perhaps more a medium than easy walk, with gradients in places. To get to the starting point you need to drive through the town, turning right at the end, down the slope, pass the Amanhavis Hotel and follow the road around the other side of the town to the reservoir.
Due to limited parking at the starting point meet at the Carpark by the church 2 kms before entering Benahavis and then car share to the starting point or meet at the reservoir for those not wanting to be involved in car sharing, details of this location can be provided on request.
Take the A7175 turning to Benahavis off the A7, which is the second exit after the San Pedro tunnel from Marbella. Go across the roundabout towards Benahavis. At the next roundabout, decorated with a Benahavis waterfall, go straight on. The road goes under the AP7 and then comes to a cross-roads. Go straight across and look out for the carpark on the right hand side in about 2 kms. This is where the Sunday Market is held, the Church is Ermita Virgen del Rosario.
There is a very distinctive turreted brick and white rendered wall in front of the church. Park at the far end of the wall. Meet at 10.30 am at the carpark in front of the Church on the A7175.
