LA TROCHA – RIO PEREILAS AL-163, COIN

The starting point is at the La Trocha shopping centre car park on the outskirts of Coin. This is the car park where there is a very popular market on Sundays.

At the intersection turn right along the dirt road towards the open farmlands which takes you past many small holdings leading to the SL-A163 the Sendero Rio Pereilas.

This is a nice riverbank walk with good shade from the eucalyptus trees but the river was exceptionally dry. There are a lot of bamboo reeds obscuring the river in many places but a good area for bird spotting. Return over the Toblerone bridge back to Bar La Trocha adjacent to the petrol station and a great place for drinks and tapas after the walk. 

Directions to Meeting Point

From Marbella

Take the A-355, passed Ojen and continue straight on, then take the A-7059 signposted to Coin/Cartama. Take the 4th exit onto the A-7059 and after about 1 km you will arrive at La Trocha Shopping Center. At the roundabout there is a petrol station which has parking behind, this is the meeting point.

From Mijas and Alhaurin 

Take the MA-3033 from the Alhaurin roundabout then in about 2 km turn right onto the A-355 onto Cartama.

From Alhaurin take the A-404 towards Coin and then turn right onto A-355 onto Cartama. Take the A-7059 signposted to Coin/Cartama. Take the 4th exit onto the A-7059 and after about 1 km you will arrive at La Trocha Shopping Center. At the roundabout there is a petrol station which has parking behind, this is the meeting point.
