ONLINE-DIGITAL-AWARENESS

The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA)

Teacher’s Pets!

has the objective of stimulating an interest and enthusiasm for things of a more technological nature in the digital world. It is suitable for any age and ability The structure, like the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, is one of gaining badges and access to further steps in the experience cycle. This scheme, however, is aimed at a broader cross-section of society and age groups including the typical U3A International member. It is an opportunity to learn and develop digital and enterprise skills entirely free through a series of online challenges and events. It is learning for fun, exactly the same aim as U3A International.

Participants can take part by tackling the various modules during weekly classes under the watchful eye of the facilitator, as well as at home or even on the beach using personal computers, tablets or mobile phones.

Achievement of sufficient badges leads to a Bronze award. A Silver intermediate award is next and then a Gold advanced, though the latter is not yet available. The U3A International facilitator has achieved the Silver award.

Members can join our iDEA activity at any time of the year, take breaks or continue when away. The scheme is entirely flexible so it can fit in with anyone’s schedule. Participants can enhance their skills and knowledge, improve their digital literacy, learn tips and techniques about staying safe online, discover talents they didn’t know they had and definitely become more confident with technology.

THIS ACTIVITY TAKES PLACE ON THE FIRST AND THIRD THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH.
