This is an easy walk, which leads to a mirador overlooking Ojén and a second mirador above Marbella. There are no major challenges on this walk.
The walk leads through the village of Monda and down into the Alpujata Valley, passing an old lime kiln on the way. The path crosses to the other side of the valley and up quite a steep gradient into the pine woods.
This walk leads into the foot hills below the Sierra Alpujata, through avocado groves and almond trees, and reaches the point where it looks down onto the Rio Pereilas running through the rich fertile valley.
Easy to Medium
This is a walk through orange groves, over an ancient goat herding bridge and with views over a valley, the mountains and the areas around Ojén.
This walk is from Monda to Guaro and back, taking the route over the old Roman road, through the valley along a track with a succession of climbs.
Medium to Heavy
This walk begins at a bridge over the Rio Grande. It passes through some splendid countryside, halfway up a valley and is surrounded by hills. The walk affords great views across to Serriana de Ronda and back to Sierra Nieves.
Easy to Medium
This walk starts at the “Toblerone” bridge over the Rio Pereilas and proceeds along the tarmac road through arable countryside, to a Eucalyptus grove next to the Rio Grande. There is an opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of an authentic Spanish country lane.
