Every two weeks through the season, members gather in San Pedro to read a play. These range from classics by Ibsen and Shakespeare to recent West End successes by Butterworth and Wade, by way of Tennessee Williams, Noel Coward and Tom Stoppard.
The Group learns about the context in which the plays were first performed, and discusses their merits over a coffee or glass of wine.
Once again there will be an exciting programme of plays to read.
Last year’s programme included:
Vivat! Vivat Regina! by Robert Bolt
The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquhar
The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth
Lettice and Lovage by Peter Shaffer
