As a follow-up to her fascinating lecture on China last year the presenter will continue with an exploration of its many cultural treasures. China, as the only continuous Ancient Civilisation in existence, has a long history of social unrest and political upheaval, most recently the Cultural Revolution with its wholesale wreckage of historic buildings and antiquities. However many still remain, several of which deservedly have Unesco heritage status and these will be explored together with the most important symbols, traditions and customs.
These lectures are all based on the presenter’s own personal experiences and travel within China.
