High Renaissance style begins in Rome with Bramante. The aim was monumentality and the emulation of the spatial effects of Imperial Rome. The stage was set for the emergence of two main themes in 16th century architectural style such as “correctness” with the classical past and “inventiveness” verging on eccentricity. The latter is often referred to as “Mannerism”
