BENALMÁDENA – MIRADOR DE LA CAÑADA DEL LOBO
This is a new walk that climbs the hills above Benalmádena to the spectacular Mirador de la Cañada del Lobo.
From the meeting point the walk passes the Urbanización Santangelo before taking a right fork and climbing to a covered reservoir. After a short descent the route climbs a stony path, steep in places, to the Ermita del Calamorro. This is the most demanding part of the walk.
From here the path climbs more gently on good quality tracks and unmade roads past the Puerto de las Ovejas towards the albergue at the Cañada del Lobo. From here it is just a short distance to the spectacular mirador with its distinctive statue of a howling wolf.
After a break for lunch the route returns to the Puerto de las Ovejas before descending a steep mountain bike trail down the Arroyo de los Muertos to the Calle Miami. The final section of the walk follows this concreted road back to the cars.
