EL CAMORRO – ENTRERRIOS, MIJAS

The walk starts with a steady uphill climb up Cerro del Camorro for about 20 minutes on a wide but rocky path. The walking terrain is good and well-graded and then it levels out and there are good views of the hills around this area. The wide path winds its way around the mountain giving views of Calahonda and Ojen, and the river Ojen below. Further on there are views of the coast over the top of La Cala-Mijas and La Mairena arriving back at the top of the hill which leads back to the parking area.

Directions to Meeting Place

From La Cala-Mijas:

Take A-7 and take the La Cala Mijas exit, at the roundabout take the 3rd exit toward the mountains. The road leads past the ALDI supermarket on your right and Carrefour on your left in La Cala-Mijas, heading north. At the GALP roundabout take 1st exit for 2.3 km to another roundabout, passing under the AP-7, then take 1st exit onto Ctra. de la Cala a Entrerrios. Follow this road for 3.2 km and then take the right exit just before the bend. Follow this road for 2.9 km then take a left fork to Camino Ojen. Continue on this road for 1.6 km, then take the left fork to Camino Fuente La Teja. With the horse stables on your left, take the dirt road at the junction on the right, and follow this road for 750 meters to the parking on either side of the dirt road.

From Alhaurin and Mijas Pueblo:

From the BP Alhaurin roundabout, take the A-7053 to La Cala for 8.9 km to the roundabout, and then take the first exit leading to La Cala. Go over the bridge, and just after, turn left, following the direction from above.
