This walk is to the top of the iconic La Concha above Marbella starting from the Refugio de Juanar.

The walk begins at the forest gates and proceeds in the direction of the abandoned hunting observatory.  It then carries on through the forest, with a small incline, until starting the climb up to the saddle close to the Cruz de Juanar.  After a short break the walk proceeds, turning west, passing the Salto del Lobo (1220m) and Lastonar (1275m) which is the highest point in this area.

The route then continues along a testing path to the peak of La Concha where at the top there will be time to have a snack, take photos, enjoy the views and the sense of achievement. The return to base is exactly the same in reverse but by then there could be some tired and achy legs so care should be taken!

The main walk will take 6 hours or more depending on conditions.  A slightly shorter option (4-5 hours) led by a second guide that stops just short of the final ascent to La Concha will also be offered.  Participants can decide on the day which option they prefer.

Regettably dogs are not allowed on this walk.  Please also note the earlier start (9:30h).

IMPORTANT: This is a long and at times difficult walk with steep ascents and descents, as well as narrow stretches with big drop-offs.  The walk requires good stamina and is not suitable for those prone to vertigo.
