Juanar Loop -via the Istan track

Juanar Istan Track: This is a fairly short but steep walk round the back of the Refugio taking the Istan route. Park in the lanes near the hotel (not in its car park) at 10:30. The walk takes us up towards the Mirador, through the forest gates and right towards La Concha/Istan. We ignore the La Concha turn to the left and continue up towards Istan through a gap in the hills. Once at the very top there will be an opportunity to stop for a snack. Then we drop down and cross the valley beyond and up the other side and eventually drop back down to the Refugio. Though its relatively short it should take 2+ hours, see the map & profile on the website. Well behaved dogs should be ok on this walk. Approx Distance kms: 6
