LA CONCHA
This walk is to the top of the iconic La Concha and is ´up and back´ from Juanar. It begins in the direction of the abandoned hunting observatory and then carries on through the forest, with a small incline, until starting the climb up to the saddle. After a short break the walk proceeds, turning west, passing the Salto del Lobo (1220m) and Lastonar (1275m, the highest point in this range). From there it continues to the peak of La Concha where at the top there will be time to have a snack, take photos, enjoy the views and the sense of achievement. The return to base is exactly the same in reverse but by then there could be some tired and achy legs so care should be taken!
IMPORTANT: This is a long and at times difficult walk with some steep ascents and descents, as well as narrow stretches with big drop-offs. So, this walk is not for the fainthearted nor those without good stamina. One of the guides will turn back before the last difficult part to lead the people that don't want to go to the top.
Regrettably dogs are not permitted on this walk.
