OJÉN CIRCULAR via ERMITA la VIRGENCITA

The walk begins and ends on the main road in Ojen. The first part of the walk passes a viewpoint overlooking Ojen, but it's a steady uphill climb on a rocky path. The trail then goes through a dark tunnel under the Marbella-Cóin road and passes a small hermitage. After the tunnel, the path continues uphill to a higher point, but not to the summit. The downhill section follows a rocky path, not too steep, until we reach a 2nd tunnel leading into the Cerezal nature reserve. The walk is mostly in trees, so there is very good shade cover, but the steeper sections are not too difficult.

From Marbella

Take the A355. Between Km 31 and Km 30, take the junction towards Ojén A7103. After 1.9 Km, there is a large roundabout with a sign to Ojén/El Castana. Follow the road, passing a Repsol Garage on the right, and just after, there is parking on the left, turn in there and park. The meeting place is a short walk along the road, past the Caves entrance, until you reach Bar Gau-Txori on the left-hand side of the main road.
