OJÉN VALLEYS IN REVERSE
The walk starts from Ojén cemetery and passes along a valley where the sound of rushing water can be heard from the stream below. The path then leads up through pine woods to a broad track which carries on around a wooded valley with views of the mountains and areas around Ojén. The rest stop provides an opportunity to look out over the Mediterranean. The route is all downhill from this point with more beautiful views until it passes over the stream via an ancient goat herding bridge to finish along the valley with the stream below. Back at the start point walkers can choose to take the steps down the side of the valley to the stream at the foot. (They should be aware, though, that going down means coming up again!)
Directions to Meeting Place
Take the A355 either from Marbella or from Monda. Between Km 31 and 30 take the junction towards Ojén A7103. After 1.9 Km there is a sign, Ojén/El Castana, at which point there is a flat roundabout. The meeting place is at the large lay-by on the roundabout (near the rubbish bins). After the meeting point there is a short journey in convoy to the start of the walk.
