BENALMÁDENA – MIRADOR DE LA CAÑADA DEL LOBO
Walk
This is a new walk that climbs steeply from the Urbanización Santangelo above Benalmádena to the old Ermita del Calamorro before ascending more gently to the Mirador de la Cañada del Lobo. There are spectacular views of the Málaga coast and Guadalhorce valley from here with the mountains of the Sierra Nevada beyond.

Parque de Calistenia to Laguna Village
Walk
This walk is from Parque de Calistenia to Laguna Village and return, using the boardwalk and Paseo Maritimo. The walk starts along the boardwalk at the back of Carrefour Estepona and continues along the Paseo Maritimo in an easterly direction. Many urbanisations and hotels having connected their properties to the boardwalk makes for interesting views. The return is by the same route.

CHARCO DE LA VIRGEN – TOLOX
Walk
This is an out and back walk starting at the Fuente Amargosa Health Spa in Tolox. Although this needs an extra half hour’s drive to the start of the walk, the drive is scenic and the walk, although shorter than usual, is well worth it. There are numerous stepping stones at the four river crossings, but the river should not be too wide at this time of year.

COÍN – CERRO DEL ÁGUILA, SIERRA NEGRA
Walk
This recently added hill walk climbs from the Albuqueria Valley near Coín, past the Barranco Blanco and then up to a wide ridge just below the summit of the Cerro del Águila in the Sierra Negra. On a clear day there are spectacular panoramic views of the coast, the Sierra de las Nieves and the towns and and villages around Coín.

Palm Beach, Los Monteros to Marina La Bajadilla, Marbella
Walk
Walk Participants will head West along the boardwalk passing Rio Real, sand dunes and the Parque Mediterraneo before joining the paseo maritimo at La Dolce Vita chiringuito. Participants will then pass the Fishermen’s lockups and arrive at the Fishermen’s cottages opposite the Marina La Bajadilla. There will be an opportunity to take refreshments at Restaurante Canuto before returning along the same Route.

PECHO de los LOBOS, ALHAURIN el GRANDE, SIERRA de MIJAS
Walk
This is a lovely circular walk around the Pecho de los Lobos on the western side of the Sierra de Mijas. There is about 80% shade and about 300m of climb for the first 3.4km. There are lovely views of the Sierra Alpujata; additionally, being surrounded by pine woods, it is very tranquil.

OJÉN – UPPER RIO REAL VALLEY
Walk
The last hill walk of the season is a recently added trail around the upper Rio Real valley in the forest above Ojén. The route is relatively short, shaded in places and starts and finishes at a bar in the town where refreshments can be taken. A fitting end to the hill walking season!

San Pedro to Puerto Banus
Walk
Walk participants will leave the meeting place heading east along San Pedro’s paseo maritimo before crossing the bridge over the Guadaiza river. They will then continue along the boardwalk passing several coves on their passage to Puerto Banus. Walkers will continue around the Puerto Banus waterfront and marina to the La Victoria statue where there will be an opportunity for refreshments at a beachside cafe. Walkers will return by the same route except when going through Puerto Banus where a section of road walking will be used to bypass the marina.

ISTÁN – PUERTO DE LOS BARRACONES
Walk
This walk initially follows Moorish irrigation channels and then passes through orange groves. About 2 km from the village, a path branches off to the left, passing through the trees at a higher level, avoiding the steep incline into Istan. The walk finishes at the Hotel Altos de Istan where refreshments and tapas are served on the terrace. This Hotel is also the meeting place, avoiding the previous long walk back from the Plaza.

CALA DE MIJAS TO RIVIERA PLAYA
Walk
This walk goes west from the Torre de la Bateria along the sendero litoral towards Riviera Playa. Much of the route is by boardwalk, affording pleasant views of this interesting part of the coast. Refreshments will be taken at the chiringuito ‘El Juncal’ at Rivera Playa before the return.

CASTILLO SOHAIL TO LOS BOLICHES PLAYA, FUENGIROLA
Walk
Leaving the Parque del Castillo behind, with its castle resplendent on the hill, this walk embarks on the Fuengirola Paseo Maritimo. It crosses the Fuengirola river, passes the Puerto Deportivo and arrives at the Espigon de la T and then continues to Los Boliches playa. It passes a variety of street bars and chiringuitos, which in full season are a hub of activity. Return is by the same route after an opportunity for refreshments at a nearby chiringuito.
