THE ROMAN PERIOD
In Rome there are still a multitude of examples of remains of the building enterprise of the Roman Empire. In order to understand those surviving examples an analysis of the development of architecture from Republican to Imperial Rome will take place. As the Emperors expanded the frontiers of the Empire basic concepts of Roman city planning will be discussed.
