THE MINOAN, MYCENAEAN AND GREEK PERIODS

Exploring the influence of Minoan and Mycenean cultures in early Greek architecture. There will be a discussion of Greece’s golden period under Pericles and an analysis of the development of the Classical style that was later disseminated under the influence of Alexander the Great throughout his empire.

At the time of the Roman conquest the Greek Classical style was adopted, transformed and further developed by the Romans. Their legacy and aesthetic principles were reinterpreted later in the Renaissance period.
