LA CRUZ DE JUANAR
A challenging walk going to the peak of the mountain, la Cruz de Juanar (1.070 m) with fabulous far reaching views on a clear day. Leaving from nearby the Refugio, the walk will turn right by the abandoned hunting observatory, then through forest with a small incline until the start of the climb to a saddle. From the saddle the walk climbs from the west side of the mountain up to the top. At the summit there are great views across to Africa and it also possible to see the Sierra Nevada mountains. The knee crunching descent is on the east side back down to Juanar. In the interests of safety there are no dogs allowed on this walk.
