LA TORRECILLA
This is walk to the peak of La Torrecilla, a mountain with a height of 1,919 metres which lies south east of Ronda in the Sierra de las Nieves nature park. The walking is not technically difficult but there are some quite steep parts and you will need endurance. You can see the route and the profile of the outward trail at http://u3a.es/content/la-torrecilla-qujigales where you can also download a Google Earth trail.
In the interests of safety there are no dogs allowed on this walk.
It will be cool at the top, warm clothes will be required. Gloves, hat and a stick are recommended.
Directions to the Meeting Place:
We will meet in front of Aranda Iluminación. This is a large lighting shop which is on the right when travelling from San Pedro to Ronda on the A397.
From the A7 at San Pedro turn north onto the A397 and the shop can be found at the roundabout just before the slip road to the AP7 Toll Road.
If coming off the AP7 Toll Road it is at the first roundabout travelling towards San Pedro.
From San Pedro we will drive towards Ronda and turn off right after about 33km (shortly after the 14 km sign) into Parque Natural Sierra de Las Nieves. We then follow the unpaved road to Cortijo de Quejigales where we park our cars.
