PUERTA VERDE (LAKE CONCEPCIÓN)

This walk has fabulous views. The walk is easy with only a few, quite gentle hills. It is about 9 km long. The route is along dirt tracks and narrow paths through beautiful vegetation passing by old cork oaks. There will be occasional stops to take in the wonderful views over Lake Concepción towards Istán and La Concha mountain. The turning point is at a rustic goat breeding farm where there may be baby goats.

From Inland or Fuenguirola

Drive towards Puerto Banus. Go through the tunnel. Take the second exit after the tunnel signposted Puerto Banus , Exit 175. Keep to the right and at the roundabout (La Alzambra Vasari/ Iceland), take the first exit. See ‘All Traffic’ below.

Drive towards Puerto Banus. When you have passed Aldi, take the exit ‘Puerto Banus’ . Keep to the right where the road divides on the bridge and then merge right again. At the roundabout (La Alzambra Vasari/ Iceland), take the first exit. See ‘All Traffic’ below.

From Estepona Direction.

Take the ‘Istán’ exit immediately after El Corte Inglés. Go around the roundabout (with the rhino) and take the 4th exit under the bridge. Continue through two roundabouts, you will see La Alzambra Vasari/ Iceland on your left. See ‘All Traffic’ below.

All Traffic

Continue on this road through 4 more roundabouts. You will pass La Dama de Noche and Los Naranjos de Marbella on your right. At the 4th roundabout, take the exit going uphill. It is signposted Aloha Golf Club, Aloha College is on your left.

The meeting place is the Aloha College car park about 100 meters further on the right at the Colegio. We leave here in convoy to the start of the walk.

The Convoy to Start.

We turn right out of Aloha college car park. Follow the road until we drive around a sharp bend at the end of the golf course. At the next roundabout turn right. Drive under a bridge, then bear RIGHT at a sign “La Colina”. Continue until you reach a roundabout and take the 2^nd exit into a rough ground car park. This is the start of the walk.
